Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DRM Member Registration Portal available at members.drm.co.ke (the "Portal"), operated by the Democratic Republic Movement ("DRM," "we," "us," or "our"), a political party registered in Kenya under the Political Parties Act, 2011.

By ticking the consent checkbox during registration and submitting your membership application, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility for Membership

To register as a DRM party member, you must:

• Be a Kenyan citizen aged 18 years or older as at the date of registration
• Hold a valid National Identity Card or Passport
• Not be a member of another political party registered in Kenya (per ORPP regulations)
• Not be disqualified from political participation under Kenyan law
• For Diaspora membership: be a Kenyan citizen residing outside Kenya

3. Accuracy of Information

You declare and warrant that:

• All information you submit during registration is true, accurate, complete, and up to date
• You are registering in your own name and not on behalf of another person without their express consent
• Your National ID or Passport number is valid and belongs to you

4. Membership Rights & Obligations

As a DRM party member, you are entitled to:

• Vote in DRM internal elections and party primaries once your membership is approved and verified
• Participate in party activities, meetings, and forums
• Receive party communications via SMS and, where provided, email
• Contest for DRM party positions subject to meeting the applicable requirements

As a DRM party member, you are obliged to:

• Uphold the DRM constitution, manifesto, and code of conduct
• Pay any membership fees as may be prescribed by the party from time to time
• Not engage in conduct that brings the party into disrepute
• Notify DRM of any changes to your contact details by emailing members@drm.co.ke

5. Membership Approval & Status

Submission of this registration form does not automatically confer membership. Your application is subject to:

• Verification of your identity against the ORPP IPPMS national party membership register
• Review and approval by a DRM administrator
• Confirmation that you are not registered with another political party

You will be notified of your membership status via SMS. You can verify your status at any time by dialling *509# on any network.

6. Acceptable Use of the Portal

You agree not to:

• Register multiple accounts or submit duplicate applications
• Attempt to access any administrative or restricted section of the Portal without authorisation
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Portal
• Submit or upload any malicious code, spam, or harmful content
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Interfere with or disrupt the security or integrity of the Portal

7. Intellectual Property

All content, logos, trademarks, and materials on this Portal — including the DRM name, logo, colours, and branding — are the exclusive property of the Democratic Republic Movement and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written consent from DRM.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Portal is provided on an "as is" basis. DRM makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the availability, accuracy, or fitness of the Portal for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, DRM shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of or inability to use the Portal.

9. Communications Consent

By registering, you consent to receiving SMS messages from DRM regarding your membership status, party announcements, and election-related communications. To unsubscribe from non-essential communications, contact us at members@drm.co.ke. Note that membership status SMS confirmations cannot be opted out of as they are necessary for your membership record.

10. Termination of Membership

DRM reserves the right to suspend or terminate your membership if you:

• Provided false information during registration
• Violate the DRM constitution or code of conduct
• Register with another political party while holding DRM membership
• Are disqualified from political participation by a court of competent jurisdiction

You may voluntarily withdraw your membership at any time by written notice to members@drm.co.ke.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from your membership or use of this Portal shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya. Where possible, disputes shall first be addressed through the DRM internal dispute resolution mechanism as provided in the party constitution.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Portal after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered members of material changes via SMS or email where feasible.
